More Democratic Decision-Making in Coalition Schools: A Framework
Facilitator(s): Dan Rothstein

Workshop   +   Leadership: governance   +   Everyone
Schools can serve as tremendous laboratories for democratic practice. Democracy on all levels requires transparency, accountability, and opportunities for participation. This session will explore how to use The Right Question Project's "microdemocracy" framework for decisions as a way to increase the democratic experience in a school for both teachers and students. Working in small groups, participants will have the chance to explore new ideas, apply what they are learning, and discuss implications for an inclusive, democratic school environment. Participants will receive a full set of handouts that will allow them to share what they learn with colleagues.
Date/Time: Friday, 10:30am - 12:30pm   Room: CC 619   Session #193
