Harnessing the Power of Technology to Cultivate Mindful Learners
Facilitator(s): Patricia Clifford

Workshop   +   Classroom Practice: curriculum & instruction   +   Everyone
This session will help teachers design learning experiences for students that promote critical thinking and reflect authentic real-world applications. If we want learning that is purposeful, meaningful, generative, and challenging, we need to pay attention to what is worth learning and how to design experiences that foster deeper understandings. Using technology mindfully means using it to conduct investigations, pose and solve problems, make decisions and communicate ideas; it demands a clear focus on how teachers and students use technology in order to create knowledge, rather than merely reproducing it. In this session, teachers will be aided in the mindful use of technology to create educational experiences that will bring learning and learners together in genuinely innovative ways.
