The Communications Academy at Sir Francis Drake High School in San Anselmo, CA serves students interested in pursuing advanced audio and video skills, Web design, advanced drama, project facilitation, and a two-year English and history integrated curriculum. The ComAcad team will present their model of how to nurture self-directed learners who draw on the community as a resource for research, artistic development, understanding of course content, and evaluation. The exhibitions we will highlight: 20th century U.S. history video documentaries, poetry videos, and election campaign ads requiring students to research and present information about the politics, popular culture, literature, art, music, and technology of the time.
