Info for Registered Participants
Nathan Hale is a diverse, urban high school in Seattle comprised of approximately 1,000 students in grades 9-12. Over the past three years, Nathan Hale has explored site-based decision-making, curriculum and instructional issues, alternative scheduling, and school climate in an effort to restructure itself to better serve its students. Students demonstrate mastery of skills and concepts through frequent exhibitions as well as traditional forms of assessment. Ninth and tenth grade academies allow teacher teams to follow the same group of students for two years. Teachers examine their practice in Critical Friends Groups and actively participate in designing and evaluating the strategic plan of the school.
