Learning from My Life: Integrated Projects in the Humanities Classroom
Facilitator(s): Shoshana Rosenbaum

Roundtable   +   Classroom Practice: curriculum & instruction   +   Middle School
In this roundtable, participants will be part of an engaging discussion about developing project-based curricula that integrate reading, writing, social studies, and the arts. Teachers will learn how to use students' lives as a starting point for learning, addressing both skills and content through multiple intelligences. The facilitator, who teaches eighth grade at a small, diverse, teacher-driven public school, will present examples of successful projects in her classroom. Using a tuning protocol, participants will develop ideas for using integrated project-based learning at their own schools.
