The Who/What/Where/When/Whys and Hows of Establishing a Multi-Age Program
Facilitator(s): Ruth Woodward, Beth Ackley

Workshop   +   Classroom Practice: curriculum & instruction   +   Elementary School
In order to meet the individual needs and learning styles of students, our school offers parents and students a choice of single-grade classrooms and multi-age classrooms. This presentation will focus on our multi-age program. Come see how we researched and established our program and how we have grown and evolved in the past six years. Our school now has a family atmosphere that allows children to progress at their own pace; this classroom culture also establishes acceptance of students with special needs or disabilities through the use of a variety of programs and strategies: TRIBES, curriculum mapping, brain research, life skills, and behavior plans. Join us as we present the ways we have individualized learning for our students in this multi-age setting.
